Exhibition: 4th – 19th October, 2008.

Sculpture is the need to arrange, to juxtapose and to navigate space, to handle matter and exist within the stuff that the world is made up of. The artists selected for this exhibition are exploring the realms of contemporary sculpture, with a freedom and experimentation that constantly breaks and makes up its own rules.

The history of modernism in sculpture cannot be ignored or forgotten, so it is with these artists that there is a negotiation of its memory, while skipping on its grave in absolute openness. Abstraction meets representation, form with the formless, traditional materials with the readymade, craftsmanship with child play, the architectural with the personal, functional with the ornamental, and anything that doesn’t go with all that does.
